DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR HOUSING COURT CASE?

Visit the Information table. We operate tables in every housing court of the city every day that court is open, from 9 a.m. to Noon. All of our services are FREE. Our staff can provide information about housing court process and procedures and provide referrals to a community group or legal service offices, which may serve your neighborhood. We cannot provide legal assistance, but basic information on Housing Court, which may assist you in avoiding eviction, getting repairs, or resolving your court case on more favorable terms. Make sure to bring all of your court papers.
Call the hotline after 2pm and speak to a Borough Coordinator for assistance.
NEED HELP PAYING BACK RENT?

If you have a case in Housing Court for non-payment of rent, and

Have a good reason for falling behind in your rent, such as lost wages, illness or death in family, and can document this reason, and

And your income is high enough that you can pay your future rent……

The Emergency Rent Coalition is a group of NYC charities that provides financial assistance to tenants facing eviction. Which charities have funding available changes from week to week.
