We currently are seeking a Housing Advocate/Assistant Borough Coordinator

We are looking for a part-time housing advocate\borough assistant. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday plus one afternoon a week.

You will help unrepresented tenants and landlords who have questions about housing court and other housing issues by providing information and referrals. On most mornings you will work at one of our Information Tables located inside one of the City's seven housing courts. On the one afternoon you work you will usually come to our main office to help answer questions to our hotline and assist on various projects. You will also work with the Borough Coordinator on planning meetings and trainings and working on ways to improve the Housing Court. Ability to work on video and website projects also possible.

Requirements:
At least one year experience as organizer, advocate or counselor. Knowledge of Housing Court procedures, rules and regulations of the myriad of housing types in NYC, excellent communication skills, ability to work with diverse population. Foreign language, web site design, database and FinalCut pro skills also helpful.
